“Well that certainly sounds like my girlfriend. Except you are mistaken miss. My girlfriend is definitely cool,” the boy chuckled. Jesse instantly returned the embrace albeit loosely. “I would hug you, but that probably wouldn’t be pleasant for you. Post- show grunge and all,” he said with a slight crinkle of his nose. “You know the life of a performer,” he exhaled dramatically running a hand through his curly hair. He opted to give Rachel a small kiss on the forehead pulling away from her with a smile. “We were pretty amazing tonight. I thought I almost went flat during our third song but it must have been just the mediocre sound system.” The singer reached for his girlfriend’s hand tracing her knuckles with his thumb. “I guess you’re just going to have to come to all of our shows now,” he announced with a mischievous smirk. “Joan Jett attire being optional of course. Unless you and Quinn make some kind of sequel to this bet,” he laughed while looking around the bar for his pink haired friend and huffed when she was no where to be seen. He wanted to be the one to officially introduce them for the first time. “You really do look great though. Did you and Tina pull this together?” He asked his girlfriend with a slight raise of his eyebrow. “You could definitely play Joan Jett if the role ever presented itself.”
“I’m going to get a drink. Do you want anything?” Before he could even get an answer he was already waving down the bartender. “I’ll have a rum and coke and something sweet for the lady,” he ordered confidently giving Rachel a dazzling show face smile. Once the bartender returned with their drinks he lifted his glass. “To great music, my beautiful girlfriend, and drastic wardrobe changes,” he said with a grin clinking his glass with Rachel’s before taking a sip.
At the mention of the opportunity of playing Joan Jett, Rachel couldn’t help but grin. Of course Jesse wasn’t being serious, but there was always the what if factor. What if the role did present and she wasn’t ready? But just because she had an appropriate outfit didn’t mean she was a ‘rock girl’ already, she needed the attitude too, it was going to be a very good acting exercise. Probably it was a good thing that her boyfriend couldn’t read her mind in that moment, because if he knew what it was going through Rachel’s head he’d be laughing by then — she was already planning practicing for a non-existent role, it was almost ridiculous. “Yes, Tina helped a lot. While leather isn’t really my thing, I am finding myself quite comfortable, I thought I’d be complaining more by now…,” she commented with a quiet laugh. “I still need to find Quinn to show her, and don’t worry, I don’t think we’ll be betting again any time soon.”
Jesse didn’t give her a chance to say if she wanted anything to drink or not, but she didn’t complain, they were at a bar after a very fantastic show, it was almost like a must to have something to drink after. Once with their drinks in hand, what Rachel could only guess was a Margarita —because honestly, she’s never been a really fan of drinking and it certainly didn’t matter that she was now legal— Rachel darted her eyes from her glass to look at Jesse and nodded as she offered him a smile. All of those things he said sounded great, but there were two things she could think of that were even better. “For a lot of more successful shows, aaand…for us.” she said, sending a quick wink her way before taking a long sip of her drink. Despite their relationship being new, Rachel was really happy and glad to have Jesse in her life. She’s dated every now and then, but with him it was different, he just…get her, and that was definitely a good thing.
You pulled it off well enough.
I know. I’ve had a few people complimenting me here and there, but… I don’t think I’ll be wearing that outfit again. At least not any time soon.

Well I’m sure Jess got a kick out of the outfit. Gonna come to our next show dressed like that?
Now why would I do that?

The world’s worst war criminalJoseph Kony is the worst living criminal. He abducts children and hands them guns to kill other people, even their parents. He uses the girls as sex slaves. The children he abducted are called the Lord’s Resistance Army, also known as, The LRA. He has abducted over 30,000 children and uses them as kid soldiers in Central Africa. He remains at large because he is practically invisible to the whole world. That’s why we’re making him famous. Let us make him famous to stop his crimes.

You’re welcome! And of course, I wouldn’t have missed it. I needed to see my boyfriend and show off my outfit!

Oh. Well, good. And I wish I could say both, but who knows about the latter, really? If the opportunity presents and there’s a really good stake…
Hmph, well I’ll try harder to impress you next time, Miss Fabray. Not that there will be a next time, because I’m never losing another bet again.
Jesse had been feeling rather pleased with himself after his performance with Attack of the Strike, as he normally did. Though tonight was extra special on the account of it was officially the night he was able to show his new girlfriend another aspect of himself. Despite their romance being so new, Jesse really had come to enjoy the presence of Rachel in his life, especially in the romantic sense. He had never really felt that sort of attraction for another, nor understood the appeal, but for him it was as if there was a spark between them that didn’t just occur between the characters they portrayed on stage. Whatever this specific feeling was, despite it’s unfamiliarity, Jesse was enjoying how it felt and it had to be nothing short of obvious.
The freedom of being able to sing on stage let him be able to look at Rachel with charming smiles, lively eyes, and of course, sly winks while doing as such. He wasn’t breaking character in the slightest, he was taking on the role of a singer in a band trying to woo a beautiful girl in the audience and certainly he had accomplished that. It was possible that he might have looked a little more than needed between songs just because of the attire she was wearing. It was now after the show, the band had finished their two encores for the crowd’s pleasure and the group had dispersed. They weren’t the type to do after-show pop wows, which was good for this night since Jesse wanted to be able to go to Rachel without there being any unneeded delays.
Jesse had noticed Rachel and made his way to her, a small little grin threatening to break out on his lips. It was true, as silly as it seemed, he was smitten when it came to one Rachel Berry. “Excuse me, miss?” Jesse started as he obviously was talking to his girlfriend, “I’m trying to locate my girlfriend, she’s not very tall, incredibly stunning, normally wears clothing that isn’t from circa 1980.” Jesse joked, that smile threatening to come out before now appearing.
Four days were definitely not enough for one Rachel Berry to get ready for her boyfriend and possibly new friends’ gig. Of course, she was exaggerating only a little bit, after all there usually weren’t a lot of times when Rachel wouldn’t have control over a situation, let alone her own outfit. But like the song says, with a little help from a friend, she finally managed to put everything together and make that attire her own. Rachel was looking like a modern version of Joan Jett, and if she had to choose a word to describe herself, that would be it — even if in theory it was a name. But even after a while of convincing herself that she looked good, it took another couple of minutes to convince herself that she actually had to go to the show even if she was feeling a little self conscious. It would be the first performance of Jesse’s band she’d be actually seeing live, and considering their very busy schedules, she most certainly couldn’t miss it.
Fashionable late worked for her after all, although she doubted anyone would have noticed since the bar was crowded enough, and while it wasn’t really her scene, she wouldn’t be missing anything or anyone since her eyes always had to be glued to the stage.
The show didn’t last enough as she was hoping it would, but Rachel enjoyed every second of it anyway. It was a new side of Jesse she didn’t know about, but she most definitely loved it. The winks he would send her way in between songs had her swooning and gave her the proper motivation she needed to try and get lost in the music, that while it wasn’t her style, it was good nonetheless — and she even found herself swaying and almost jumping along the music a few times.
Had she not been impatiently waiting for Jesse to come over while looking at her black painted nails, she would have noticed her boyfriend slowly approaching her with an attempt of a smile on his face. Her eyes immediately lit up as she looked up to him, offering a shy smile. “I do believe I’ve seen her. She was wearing argyle and a really short skirt. Definitely not cool.” she joked, biting her lip and laughing quietly, the sound getting lost in the background music. Rachel didn’t waste any more seconds and threw her arms around Jesse’s neck, pecking her cheek quickly before pulling apart, because it was clear that he just left the stage, and of course, she didn’t want to ruin her outfit. “You guys were amazing. I can’t believe you didn’t convince me earlier to come see you!” Rachel huffed, poking her shoulder lightly.
